School Libraries: Collaborating for College Readiness | At Your Library

The school librarian is the hub of the learning wheel. This is demonstrated by high school librarians like Brenda Boyer, at Kutztown (Pa.) Area High School, as they collaborate with teachers and students to make sure those students are college ready. The effectiveness of the collaboration between Boyer and her teacher colleagues, Allison Kocis-Westgate and Josh Chambers, led to their receiving the Collaborative School Library Award, given by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).
